By Carolyn Warloe The Grace Lutheran Church Council has been holding the "Season of Listening" to determine where the congregation would like to direct our ministry in the years to come. It is a major topic for the Council Retreat and they will be considering all the input they have gathered from the congregation during the last year. The 75th Anniversary Committee has also been considering how we should celebrate our 75 years of history and move forward in the next 25 years before we celebrate our Centennial. As a congregation we should be proud of our history; helping Vina Moses, the Grace Center, and Luther House to name just three ways we have enriched our community and not just our members. But we should also be looking at how we can expand our ministry in the next 25 years into the community and world. The Foundation is celebrating 20 years of helping Grace Lutheran Church fund its programs and extend its mission. Alice Ronnenkamp wanted her gift to expand the mission of Grace Lutheran Church. Since that initial gift the Foundation has grown from $250,000 to over $713,000 in funds thanks to donations and earnings. At the same time we have given away approximately $410,000 to a variety of projects that support the mission of Grace Lutheran Church. Members of the Foundation Board are pleased that we have over $200,000 in funds available for supporting Grace Lutheran Church in the coming years. When the congregation is ready to move forward with a new project, the Foundation may be able to assist with funds to get it started. What do you want our church to accomplish in the future? Hopefully the Foundation can help!
