Are you scheduled for a photo session?

Photo opportunities for April 25-27 here at Grace Lutheran have been filled, and we still have availability on Friday, May 3.  Families and pets welcome!

Please visit the following website to choose your appointment time:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B084AAFA92DABF94-grace

If you are not able to make those dates, please contact the office or the photographer, Cherie, direct at 503-967-9119.  She has a studio in Monmouth and is willing to make appointments for those who are unavailable during our scheduled days.

Please let us know if you need assistance with the process — we want to help!  We love those old pictures of everyone also, but it will be good to get them updated.

Thank you to all who have already made appointments.

Save the date – Summer Day Camp, August 5-8!   9am-12pm.   Help us jumpstart a new summer experience.  We will explore “Who Is My Neighbor” through Bible stories, games, and local trips.   Grace and partner Good Samaritan Episcopal invite all kids, friends, and grandkids entering grades 1- 6 as campers and older youth as volunteers.  We can share God’s love in our neighborhood.  Register Here:  https://form.jotform.com/sclundahl/gracegood-sam-day-camp-registration

Look for registration forms and volunteer opportunity information soon.

Speaking of Camp — we will once again be offering partial camperships to Camp Lutherwood.  Applications are available, and we encourage you to apply!  Thank you, Grace Lutheran Church Foundation, for once again making this possible.  Check out available camp experiences at www.lutherwoodoregon.org and find the campership form in the entryway, church office, or from Donna King.

A note from Camp Lutherwood:

Hopefully you have heard by now that on the evening of Friday, April 12th the Lodge at Camp Lutherwood Oregon burned to the ground. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire. We are so grateful for the quick response of emergency personnel and our neighbors.

Later this year we intended to share with you our expansion plans for Camp Lutherwood Oregon. These plans included the addition of a retreat center to be built adjacent to the Lodge. We are now working with our architects to redesign a new Lodge and retreat center.

At the same time, in the next few weeks, we will begin to construct a temporary space that will allow us to operate over the next year with limited interruptions to our guests and programs. This solution will provide both meeting and dining space as well as a mobile kitchen. It will be constructed on the site of a planned future pavilion.

With your support, we are confident that we will be operational in just a few weeks!

A generous donor has offered to match every gift made in the next 30 days up to $100,000 to help us recover from this fire and restore operations. Any gift you send right now will make a difference and help us meet this matching challenge.

Though our insurance should cover a great deal of the cost of the loss of the building, the process will take some time. To restore operations as quickly as possible, we need your help!

We have lost everything needed for our programs and guest groups from mops, toilet brushes, costumes and sporting equipment to the entire commercial kitchen. We do not want to experience an interruption of income from the cancellation of groups scheduled over the next few weeks. Your support will help us move forward quickly.

“And on the Fifth Day…”

God created the animals: to feed us, charm us, work for us, and create a sense of awe and wonder. It is this sense of beauty and wonder that motivates Larry and Sharon Rosenkoetter to observe “paragons of nature” and to capture them in photography. Their exhibit is on for six weeks in the Grace Gallery in Ronnenkamp Hall. Come to discuss God’s gift we all have in wildlife on Sunday, May 19, during the Education Hour (9:45-10:45 am.)
