Garfield School Supply Project – Though this year’s Backpacks have been assembled, there are always a few last minuet needs and older children who may still benefit. You may stil help purchase supplies or make a donation.  A stocked backpack costs $30-35.

Church Office Administrator, Part-Time (0.8 FTE), salaried, with full benefits.

You would be responsible to: Welcome people at the church and on the phone, communicate in email and print, create and distribute correspondence, maintain records and data bases, schedule and administer facility use, keep the office running smoothly.

We are looking for someone with: Confidentiality, congeniality, tact and respect for persons, verbal and writing skills, familiarity with how a church functions, organizational skills, volunteer supervisory skills, self starter, present day office skills (computer literate), familiarity with software (MS Office Suite and others)

Peter Gelser will also be resigning soon as our bookkeeper. He has begun a new full-time position as a CPA, but will continue until a new bookkeeper can be found. Finance Committee has begun a search for this position. The position description is soon to be posted.

Photo Contest We’re looking for photos of Grace Volunteers at work. Prizes will be awarded to the best shots; so get your Brownie, SLR or cell phone out and snap some pictures. Submit them to Jim Wernz or Kathy Vohland.

Did You Know? The Schlicker pipe organ in the sanctuary was constructed to sound well with the music of J. S. Bach. The sound is so distinctive that one local organ student practices on our organ each week, because he prefers it to other organs in town for baroque music. The Schlicker Pipe Organ Company was founded in 1930 by Herman Schlicker, a third generation organ builder. Mr. Schlicker, himself, oversaw the building of

Bring a potluck dish to share and your own table setting. TV trays or a card table will be helpful. Also lawn chairs to sit on the deck or beach. Don’t forget jackets, hats, and towels, sunglasses and suntan lotion. Time- come early, stay late! Arrive between 11am and 12pm. We will eat at 1:00pm.

Reservations: call by Thursday 8-13-15. Call Milt Larson 541-752-7620 or Sue Musil 541-745-5511.

Overnight visitors- Milt has offered to have people stay all night if you wish. Room for 12 people. Call Milt for details. Games –Milt has a couple of games to play on the sand. Feel free to take a stroll on the beach to the Ocean.

Directions-Take Hwy 34 towards Alsea or Hwy 20 to Newport and go South to Waldport. From there continue going South about 8 miles on the right look for Oregon Street and turn Right. Go to the end of street to the corner of Oregon Street and Finistere; you’re there at 6417.

Parking- “Limited” parking. Try to carpool or park in town and carpool to Milt’s house!

Staff Medical Leave

Our church Administrative Assistant, Cindy Lee’s doctor has now prescribed some additional medical leave. Her original leave began on May 19th. New Office Hours in the interim are posted above
